Doesn't it just make you growl when you meet someone who presents themselves as one way but their true character is 360 degrees south of the border? If we have to pretend to be something that we are not when we meet a person then just maybe that person is not worthy of our attention because in reality "whatcha see is whatcha get". As we mature through life we experience many joys and pain. These joys and pains, although sometimes frustrating and challenging, helps develop our character. Our character helps solidify our spirit (inner and outer). And our spirit helps define our soul. One of life's greatest challenges is not learning to love others but it is learning to love oneself. When you fall in love with your own soul no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. Body size, shape, age, skin color, physical (dis)abilities are not the characteristics that define us. Rather it is the soul, the stuff beneath the surface of our "visible me" that truly defines us. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That adage that you are what you eat is worthy of belief for if you eat the traits of envy, jealousy, inferiority, negativity, discrimination, hate, vanity, narcissism, and self-doubt then that is what you become. But if you fill your mind, heart, spirit and soul with such traits as love, peace, self-confidence, faith, hope, boldness, and positiveness then you become a virtuous King or Queen. The next time you meet someone who makes you feel uncomfortable with who you are then stand tall, look them in their eyes, and boldly tell them "whatcha see is whatcha get"! Peace!
"This above all: to thine own self be true,
and it must follow, as the night the day,
thou canst not then be false to any man."
~ William Shakespeare
